Steel rectification and asbestos encapsulation
We are experts at blasting and re-coating steel structures when the existing coating has failed due to poor application, age, an incident, or wear and tear. Encapsulation can improve environmental safety by sealing friable asbestos in place, until there’s a pragmatic way to safely remove the harmful material. We’ve worked with Altex Coatings to successfully develop, trial and use an application method that can seal extremely fragile surfaces.
Concrete coatings
We provide specialist concrete coatings for industrial and commercial structures. The coatings are customised for intended use and follow a strict QA process to adhere to the sealant’s guarantee. We provide these coatings for new builds and for re-sealing - which often also involves some degree of concrete repair.
We worked with Altex Coatings to find the best solution to seal an extremely fragile asbestos roof in a way that would minimise potential safety issues.
We are the preferred contractor for the rectification and re-coating of steelwork at the Baxter Road water treatment plant - part of Oceana Gold’s Waihi Mine.
Our coatings work at Mercury Energy’s Karapiro site has included spot coat repairs of the liner inside the main penstock, as well as full blasting and coating of a complex auxiliary penstock.
ANDRITZ recently engaged Henry and the team at Structural Coatings Services for the blasting and coating work on the Matahina Unit 1 Turbine Upgrade Project. Their flexibility, professionalism, and commitment to quality were evident throughout the project, as they delivered outstanding results within a tight deadline.
